Martha Koritsoglou
Born and raised in Kallithea, Attica. She studied Art Conservation at the Doxiadis School under P. Zouboulakis, K. Rothos, and S. Lidakis. She went on to study Painting and Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, while also attending the academy’s painting conservation studio for two years. She completed a postgraduate artistic research program under professors Chr. Botsoglou, T. Metaxas, G. Valavanidis, and D. Mytaras. From 1977 to 1986, she worked as an art conservator for the Greek Ministry of Culture on Byzantine monuments and archaeological excavations, in collaboration with the Goethe Institute, the Austrian Archaeological School, and the Ephorate of Modern Monuments in Patras. She also maintained her own art conservation workshop. Her artistic work spans book illustration, set design, jewelry making, and ceramics. She collaborated for many years with the Municipality of Kallithea in the creation of a Cultural Center, organizing cultural events and teaching in the municipal art workshops. She taught in public schools and participated in symposia and artistic events in Greece, Bulgaria, Germany, and Poland. She has presented lectures and talks at conferences on art and education, and organized cultural events in collaboration with various institutions. Her work has been showcased in 8 solo and over 60 group exhibitions in painting and printmaking. Her artworks are part of public and private collections in Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, and China. She served as Vice President and long-standing board member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, as well as a member of the Association of Art Educators. She is also a member of SKEtKE (Visual Artists Association of Central Greece).
